Downeast Diving Underwater Services    Downeast Diving, based in Eastport and Perry, Maine, provides underwater services by professional divers trained and experienced in search and recovery, underwater investigations, underwater inspections, photography and videography. Our underwater services incorporate those skills and experience in each project assigned. Our experience, guided by a systemic approach to the gathering and processing of information, enables us to conduct the most productive searches, and investigations possible.   We provide support for marine, insurance, industry, and government through specialized commercial diving services.    Downeast Diving performs services on air, nitrox, and trimix to 200 FSW on SCUBA and semi-closed and fully closed rebreathers. We use the right diving mode to fit the job with diver safety our number one priority at all times. Underwater Inspections    Downeast Diving has a staff of professional divers which provide comprehensive condition evaluations of marine vessels, underwater structures including piers, wharves, dry docks, breakwaters, revetments, and many other in-water structures.    These divers are capable of evaluating the structural significance of observed damage and making on-site assessments of structural condition. Having trained inspection divers in the water, doing the inspection, is the most appropriate method for getting an accurate assessment of the structure’s condition and providing effective maintenance and repair strategies.    All Underwater Services are performed in accordance with OSHA and USCG requirements as well as Association of Diving Contractors International (ADC) recommendations. Downeast Diving has also adopted the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) “Underwater Investigations: Standard Practice Manual”. Underwater Investigations    Our divers are certified search and recovery and public safety divers with years of experience with underwater inpsection, search, recovery, and investigations including crime scene investigation and human recovery.   The Downeast Diving team have years of training and experience as law enforcement and dive team professionals.  We also provide divers on a volunteer basis to support public service SAR operations whenever scheduling, equipment and financial considerations permit. Insurance companies and private detective agencies will benefit immensely with the services we offer.
