specifications. All equipment repair specialists are also certified
scuba diving instructors with years of field experience.
All

dive centers where you may find anyone, even
possibly an uncertified diver, assembling your equipment.
All repairs are handled on a timely basis, with turn-around
time of usually 1 to 7 business days for all in-house repairs (Allow
additional time for return shipping as necessary). We stock a complete
line of replacement parts for quick repairs. Please allow an additional
2-3 weeks for certain products that need to be returned to the
manufacturer for servicing. Such as buoyancy compensators (repairs to
mechanical parts can be serviced in-house), cameras, computers (user
changeable battery replacement can be done in-house), equipment bags,
gauges and wetsuits.
Downeast Diving services the full range of scuba equipment.

Please note, all tanks over 10 years of age must have an Eddy
Current Test performed by DOT standards.
*** Effective
as of 01/01/2007, the US DOT requires Eddy Current Testing on all 6351
alloy 3AL aluminum cylinders. Luxfer aluminum cylinders made
before 1989 were made of 6351 aluminum and are subject to sustainted
load neck cracking (SLNC). If you own one of these cylinders, be
advised that many dive shops will no longer fill these tanks. The US
DOT requires a Special Eddy current test when the tank is due for
Hydro-Testing and many dive operators also require them annually as a
part of the VIP. We will not service or fill 6351 cylinders
and have this requirement for our own safety.
